ChildFund is proud to be appointed as World Rugby’s Principal Social Impact Partner for Rugby World Cup 2023.

This follows a successful partnership between ChildFund and World Rugby for Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, Rugby World Cup 2021 in New Zealand, and Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 in South Africa.

We see rugby as a tool that can change lives and opportunities for children and young people around the world. Using the power of sport, ChildFund Rugby partners to play for impact and empower vulnerable children and young people to create positive change, promote inclusion, and take leadership roles in their communities – all while growing the game.

The partnership has supported expertise sharing, fundraising and learning and has enabled ChildFund Rugby to partner with more than 30 Rugby Unions across the world and to create change for vulnerable children and young people, more than 50% of them women and girls.

Working closely with rugby partners, ChildFund Rugby has developed Pass It Back, a rugby and life skills curriculum that enables learning to support gender equality, fair communities and safe communities for all, all while growing the game in new communities across the world.
