Current job opportunities

We are seeking female students or young individuals currently studying or living in England who are interested in gaining valuable internship experience in the fields of workshop facilitation, Sport for Development, women’s leadership, and gender studies. Successful applicants will accompany female delegates from Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Senegal, Tunisia, and Madagascar  August, offering interpretation support between English and the delegates’ national languages.

Deliverables

The successful applicants will accompany the delegates daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from 18 to 22 August (See detailed agenda)

Selection Criteria

Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
Essential:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Currently living or studying in England (preferably in Sunderland or Newcastle)
  • Fluent in English and at least one of the following languages: French, Lao, Vietnamese, or Arabic
  • Passionate about empowering women through increased opportunities to play and lead in sport
  • Open-minded and respectful of diverse perspectives and opinions
  • Committed to maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the content they translate or interpret

Desirable:
Background or experience in sport, education, or gender studies
Proud of their cultural identity and passionate about contributing to the development of sport in their home country

Skills

  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable engaging in cross-cultural environments

Management and Reporting Arrangements

The successful applicants will report to the Grassroots to Global Coordinator and participate in debriefing calls with the Coordinator both before and after the event.

All discussions and documents relating to this ToR will be treated as confidential by the parties.

Child Safeguarding

The successful applicants will be required to comply with and sign a Code of Conduct. The Volunteers will also be required to have in place relevant background and/or criminal checks.

Counter-Terrorism

ChildFund Australia acknowledges its obligation under the Australian laws relating to counter-terrorism. In order to meet its obligation, the Consultant’s name will be reviewed against Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and National Security Australia lists at the onset of any financial relationship.
